Admission Guidelines for B.Sc. Nursing

Please read all admission instructions carefully before applying for admission.

Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. Nursing must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects from a recognized board. The minimum qualifying marks in PCB subjects should be as per Punjab Government / BFUHS norms. Applicants must have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year. Candidates appearing in qualifying examinations may also apply provisionally subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions at the time of counselling. Admissions are conducted according to the rules and regulations of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Punjab Nursing Registration Council (PNRC), and Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses in Punjab is generally conducted through the Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) organized by BFUHS, Faridkot. Candidates are required to fill the online application form through the official university portal within the prescribed dates. The entrance examination consists of objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects. Merit lists are prepared based on entrance examination scores and counselling procedures conducted by the university. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official BFUHS website for notifications, schedules, and counselling updates.

Candidates must carry original documents along with self-attested photocopies at the time of counselling and admission. Required documents generally include Matriculation Certificate, 10+2 Marksheet, Character Certificate, Residence Certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar Card, Passport-size Photographs, and Entrance Test Admit Card. Migration Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate may also be required as per university norms. Candidates are advised to ensure that all submitted documents are valid and updated. Failure to produce required documents may result in cancellation of candidature.

Candidates who qualify the entrance examination are invited for online/offline counselling as per the merit list issued by BFUHS. During counselling, candidates are required to select colleges and courses according to their preference and seat availability. Seat allotment is conducted strictly on the basis of merit, reservation policy, and counselling preferences. Selected candidates must deposit the prescribed admission fee and complete document verification within the specified period. Failure to report within the given time may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.

Reservation of seats is applicable as per Punjab Government and BFUHS norms. Seats are reserved for categories such as SC, ST, BC, Sports, Freedom Fighter, Physically Handicapped, and other eligible categories as notified by the competent authorities. Candidates applying under reserved categories must provide valid category certificates issued by authorized departments. Any false information or invalid certificates may result in cancellation of admission. Reservation benefits are applicable only according to the prevailing admission policies and university regulations.

Candidates are advised to carefully read the admission prospectus and instructions before submitting the online application form. Incomplete applications or incorrect information may lead to rejection of candidature without any notice. Admission fees once deposited shall be refundable only as per university refund policies. All admissions are provisional and subject to verification of original documents and eligibility conditions. The decision of BFUHS and the admission committee shall be final in all admission matters.
